Why Won't My LG Dishwasher Drain?

LG's OE code covers a dishwasher that won't drain, and LG says the cause is most often a food clog or an installation issue. Its four steps run in order, from the filter to a test cycle.

Clean the filterWait 30 minutes after a cycle, since the tub is hot, then pull the lower rack and turn the filter handle counterclockwise to lift it out. Rinse the inner and stainless filters apart, put them back and turn clockwise until the filter clicks.
Check the drain hoseFind the ridged hose under the sink, white, opaque or gray, and make sure nothing is pinching or kinking it. Close the shut-off valve before you straighten it.
Air gap and disposalSwitch the dishwasher off, lift the air gap cover and cap, and clear debris with a toothpick or a brush, then check the garbage disposal. On a new disposal or a first dishwasher hookup the drain opening may still be plugged, and LG says an installer or plumber has to remove that plug.
Clean, then testClean the filter and the spray arms again, then run a cycle in the empty tub with a cup of vinegar or dishwasher cleaner added, and see whether the water leaves.

To force a drain, look for a CANCEL & DRAIN option on the panel, a two-button hold that varies by model, and if there isn't one, start a cycle, let it run 45 seconds and switch the power off. If OE comes back after the filter, the hose and the air gap, LG says a part may be faulty, and that's when to book the diagnosis. What LG checks first

Why Is My LG Dishwasher Leaking Or Leaving Dishes Dirty?

LG says most leaks in an LG dishwasher are related to installation, detergent or maintenance. For dishes that come out dirty, LG's own causes are loading, detergent, a dirty filter and spray arms that are blocked or touched by dishes.

Is it level?

Water at the sides of the door can mean the dishwasher was never leveled, or has shifted since. To test it, pour about a gallon of water into the tub with the bottom rack out. If the water pools to one side, LG says to request service, since leveling means removing the toe kick and adjusting the legs.

The door gasket

Food or grease on the door gasket stops the door from sealing, and wiping it clean is LG's first step. A damaged or torn seal is a service call. LG ties leaks at the bottom of the dishwasher to a loose connection at the 90 degree elbow joint and the water supply line.

Spray arms and filter

LG's step for buildup on a spray arm is a soft brush and warm soapy water, and a damaged arm is a service call. Where the water is hard, LG wants the filter cleaned at least once a month, and hard water leaves scale on spray arms and heating elements. Private wells in Carroll County can carry minerals and sediment.

Detergent and suds

Use one pod or tablet, because more than one oversuds. For liquid or powder, LG's 15 line is for a light load or soft water and the 25 line is for a heavy load or hard water. Frederick's city water is moderately hard, and limestone wells in the Frederick Valley can run much harder. Dish soap never goes in a dishwasher, and its suds are one of the two causes LG gives for bE.

We had appointment with Grabriel between 11 and 3pm, he finally arrives at 3:45pm. He was contracted by Midea to check out our dishwasher. After inspection he decided that the drain pump was defective, saying it several times in front of me and my partner, also saying it needs to be replaced or the dishwasher does. Then come find out that his report says it was improperly installed, even though he took it completely out and reinstalled it himself with the same E4 error message. We have received many different answers, one from the technician, one from Midea customer support, and one from Doctor maintenance support. It was installed correctly. This is just a copout so Midea can scam customers. Now we are stuck with a defective machine and no one will help us with an already damaged machine. Stay away from these guys and Midea.

A device technician was scheduled to come to my home yesterday, I saw him pull up to the house but he didn’t even knock or come in. this company has even me a a headache and is truly one of the most frustrating processes i’ve ever been through. they were assigned by my warranty and i will be attempting to get another contactor.
