Freezer Still Cold?
A Frigidaire fridge that runs warm while the freezer stays cold is making cold and failing to deliver it, so the diagnosis follows the air path first. Freezer section too warm as well? Then the compressor side moves up the list.
Evaporator fan motor
The evaporator fan motor moves cold air off the evaporator coil and through both compartments. When it quits or clips ice, the fresh-food side usually warms first.
Defrost system
The defrost heater, defrost thermostat and control melt frost off the coil. When one fails, frost packs the coil and chokes the airflow, and a clogged defrost drain leaves the fridge leaking water.
Condenser fan and start relay
Under the cabinet, the condenser fan motor sheds heat and the start relay kicks the compressor on. A relay that clicks while the compressor never starts lets both sides warm, the freezer included.
Control board and temperature control
The control board reads the sensors and calls for cold. Frigidaire’s guide traces frozen food in the fresh-food side to a temperature sensor covered by groceries on the right side of that compartment.
Door seals
A torn or folded gasket lets humid kitchen air in all day, and frost building up near the door opening is the usual tell.
Sealed system
The compressor, condenser, evaporator and refrigerant charge. It’s the last system to blame and the one that deserves a careful answer on an older fridge.

Why Did My Frigidaire
Ice Maker Stop?
Frigidaire's own troubleshooting guide lists four checks for an ice maker that stops, and three of the four are about water reaching it.
- The ice maker is switched off.
- The fridge isn't connected to the water line, or the water valve isn't open.
- The supply line is kinked, which happens easily when a fridge gets pushed back against the wall.
- The water filter isn't seated all the way.
Hollow cubes mean the maker isn't getting enough water, and the guide traces that to a clogged water filter or a restricted supply. For slow ice, the guide for one Frigidaire French-door family puts output at about 2 to 2.5 pounds every 24 hours, depending on use, so an empty bin after a busy weekend is expected.
On a private well, the pump is part of the check. The same guide names cut-off and cut-on pressures set too low on well systems as a cause of weak ice, and Carroll County, around Westminster, has some of the heaviest private-well use in Maryland. If the maker is on, the water's on, the filter is fresh and the bin still sits empty, the fault is past the checklist: the water valve, the ice maker itself, or a freezer that isn't cold enough to finish a batch.

Is That Fridge
Noise Normal?
A gurgle, hiss, pop, click or buzz from a Frigidaire refrigerator is usually normal, because the owner's guide lists each of those sounds and the part that makes it.
Leave it alone
- Gurgling or boiling. Refrigerant moving through the evaporator.
- Hissing or sizzling. Defrost water dripping onto the defrost heater.
- Popping. Right after a defrost cycle.
- Clicking. The electronic temperature control switching the cooling on and off.
- Buzzing. A water valve opening to fill the ice maker.
- A high hum or pulse. The compressor.
- A compressor that almost never stops. On models with a variable-speed compressor, it's designed to run all the time outside of defrost.
- About 30 minutes with the compressor off. A defrost cycle, and a red glow in the freezer's back-wall vents during it is normal too.
- Sweat on the doors in July. Moisture outside or between the doors, and faster frost inside, both come with humid weather.

I hired this company to repair my LG refrigerator. I called them on a Monday; they were able to come the following Thursday. They require a $50 deposit before they come and another $50 after the diagnose the problem. My compressor was bad, but it was covered under warranty by LG. It took them about a week to get the part and schedule to return to replace the compressor. We had to pay an additional $212. They supposedly repaired the fridge, but I was still not working. The ice was coming out jagged and it was still making a lot of noise. I called them, they told me it was another part they forgot to put on. They came another week later and added the part. The fridge was still loud and jagged ice. I called them again and added a support ticket and never received a call back or a reply to my ticket. Attempts to contact them since January have been unreturned. Do not use this company.
I had a terrible experience with Doctor Maintenance. My home warranty assigned them to fix my fridge/icing machine, which has been broken for a while. After two visits, the problem is still not fixed. The technicians couldn’t seem to identify the issue, and after both visits, my fridge is still not working properly.
