Why Does My LG Dryer
Take So Long To Dry?
A dryer that takes two cycles to dry a load needs its dryer vent checked before anything else, and LG's own d75, d80, d90 and d95 codes say the same thing, since each one means the exhaust duct is clogged to about that percentage.
- Clean the lint filter and seat it all the way back in.
- Pull the dryer out and look for a duct crushed or kinked behind it.
- Check the dryer vent hood on the outside wall, and in winter look for snow or ice.
- Clear any clog you can reach inside the duct.
- Run the duct straight or in an S curve, in rigid or semi-rigid duct, the setup LG calls for.
Most of the duct is out of sight. It leaves the back of the dryer, turns into the wall and runs to a hood outside, and in a stacked unit squeezed into a closet there's very little room behind the cabinet for a duct to bend without flattening.
A blockage inside the wall is its own job, and LG sends that one to a professional vent cleaning specialist. tE2 is the winter version. LG links it to cold conditions and says to clean the vent and check the hood for snow or ice, so after a Baltimore snowfall the first check is outside the house.
A new dryer on the same clogged duct dries just as slowly, so clear the vent before you price a replacement.

Why Is My LG Dryer
Not Heating?
An LG dryer not heating has four display codes worth reading first: tE1 or tE3 for a thermistor, nP for no current at the heater, PS for bad voltage in the cord, and GAS on a gas dryer that isn't getting its supply.
- Read the display. Write the code down before you touch anything, because a reset can clear it.
- Try LG's reset. Unplug the dryer, hold Start/Pause for 5 seconds, and plug it back in. LG gives that step for the thermistor codes and for a power failure.
- Check the power. An electric dryer runs on a 240-volt outlet. For nP and PS, LG says to reset the breaker for at least 10 seconds, and to bring in an electrician if nP keeps coming back.
- Check the gas. On a gas dryer, open the gas valve all the way and follow the line behind the dryer for a kink.
- Then it's a part. With the power and gas confirmed, the fault sits in the heat circuit: the heating element on an electric dryer, the thermal fuse, a thermistor, or the igniter and gas valve on a gas dryer. A packed vent is one of the things that blows a thermal fuse, which is why the vent is worth clearing before a new fuse goes in.

I am questioning the authenticity of 4.5 reviews from 192 reviews or may be their recent service has been bad. Here are issues: 1> Choice Home warranty assigned to them. They were supposed to come on Nov 5th. Nobody came. 2> When I followed up they said - it is not scheduled there is a disconnect between our system and LG's system or not sure whose system. I called and waiting time was 30+ minutes. 3> After technician came to resolve issue. He said within 24 to 48 hours it will be approved. It was November 7th. 4> On Nov 11th, I called and inquired after few days with Doctor Maintenance. They said part is being ordered but we don't know when will come. Let us follow up. I received a message that it is not approved. Between 11th and 18th - I called multiple times and nobody is picking up phone. 5> After few more days - on November 18th, I contacted Choice Home Warranty. They said they have not received any diagnostics from technician. We will follow up. While I thought, issue will be resolved in 1-2 weeks. Even after 17 days, my dryer is not working. (After assigning Doctor Maintenance on Nov 4th, it is 15 days.
Unfortunately I have had a very bad experience with this company. They were assigned by my home warranty company to fix a problem that I have with my washer and dryer machine. In the first visit the technician had an accident and drop water on my floor that was not waterproof l. The floor got damaged with bubbles around the machine. still I let them continue doing their work and in the second visit the technician scratched so deeply the washing machine. I contacted the company bc they must take responsibility for the damage done to my property things but so far things doesn’t look good.
