Expert Dishwasher Repair
Service In Baltimore, MD
Dishwasher repair in Baltimore is the work of diagnosing why a dishwasher has stopped draining, started leaking, or quit cleaning, then fixing it so you're not back to washing dishes by hand. It's one of the most common household appliances we get called for, because a dishwasher runs through detergent, hard water, and food debris every single cycle, and small problems add up fast.
A skilled, factory-certified appliance repair technician comes to your home, finds the real cause, and you approve one flat price before any repair starts. We handle dishwasher repair on all major brands with the right tools and reliable, on-time service, at competitive pricing across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and the surrounding Maryland counties every weekday.
Diagnosed first, priced before we start, backed sixty days.

- Standard repair, part on hand. $125 more when it's done, $225 total, same visit, almost always far less than a new dishwasher.

Common Dishwasher
Problems We Fix
If your dishwasher is doing one of these, we've seen it thousands of times across Baltimore. These are the usual causes.
Not draining
Standing water in the bottom after a cycle is the most common dishwasher call. Usually it's a clogged drain hose, a jammed drain pump, a stuck check valve, or a blocked filter. Where the drain hose ties into a garbage disposal, the knockout plug inside the disposal inlet blocks the whole drain path, which is why a brand new disposal so often shows up as a dishwasher that will not drain. We find the blockage and clear it at the source.
Leaking water
Water on the kitchen floor or under the unit points to a worn door gasket, a cracked tub, a loose hose clamp, or a failing pump seal. A tech traces the leak before it reaches your cabinets and subfloor.
Dishes come out dirty
When dishes stay filmy or gritty, the spray arms, the wash pump, the soap dispenser, or a clogged filter are usually behind it. Clearing the flow path and replacing the worn part brings the wash back.
Will not start or fill
A dishwasher that stays dead or never fills is often a faulty door latch switch, a bad water inlet valve, or a fault on one of the control boards. A tech tests the electrical path and the fill system to pin the cause, then sources the right replacement part.
Not drying
Wet dishes at the end of a cycle usually mean a failed heating element, a stuck vent, or a rinse-aid problem. Checking the dry cycle and the element is what gets a load finishing dry again.
Noisy or smells bad
Grinding, humming, or a lingering odor often comes from a worn pump bearing, debris in the sump, or a fouled filter. Clearing the sump and replacing the worn part gets it running quiet and fresh again.
If yours is sitting in an inch of gray water, our guide to a dishwasher not draining walks the eight things that block the drain path, easiest first. When the blockage sits on the disposal side of that path, garbage disposal repair is the fix that gets the dishwasher draining again.

What A Dishwasher Diagnosis
Actually Checks
A dishwasher that won't drain or clean can fail in a dozen places. A factory-certified tech works through these six systems to reach the real cause, not just the symptom.
Wash and drain pumps
The wash pump that pushes water through the spray arms and the drain pump that clears it out, the heart of cleaning and draining.
Spray arms and filters
The upper and lower spray arms, the filter assembly, and the sump, where clogs and hard-water buildup quietly wreck a wash.
Water inlet and float
The inlet valve, the float switch, and the fill lines that control how much water enters and stop an overfill.
Door, latch, and gasket
The dishwasher door latch switch, the hinges, and the gasket that seals the tub, behind both no-start faults and most leaks.
Heating element and dry
The heating element, the high-limit thermostat, and the vent that heat the wash water and dry the load.
Controls and electronics
The control boards, the thermal fuse, the wiring, and the touchpad that tell the dishwasher what to do and when.
60-second quiz Fix The Dishwasher, Or Replace It?
Answer eight quick questions about your dishwasher. We weigh the age, the problem, and the cost, then tell you whether a repair is worth your money.
Should You Repair Or
Replace Your Dishwasher?
Most of the time, repair is the more cost effective spend. A standard dishwasher lasts about 9 to 12 years, and a well-built or high-end model often longer. If yours is in that range and the fix runs less than half the price of a comparable new unit, a repair saves money and almost always wins, and a built-in or high-end model is worth fixing nearly every time. Minor repairs like a worn gasket or a stuck float rarely justify a full replacement and the installation that comes with it.
- Under 7 years old? Repair is usually the clear call.
- Built-in or high-end? Fixing beats a costly replacement and reinstall.
- Wash pump or control board gone on a 12-year-old unit? We'll tell you when replacing makes more sense.

Brian did an awesome job. Repaired my dishwasher. Anyone in Anne Arundel, please ask for Brian.
Got our dishwasher repaired through our home warranty by these folks. Ricardi was great - professional and efficient
Brian and Jose diagnosed and fixed my refrigerator and dishwasher in a matter of minutes. Arrived to my appointment on time and were very professional and friendly. Highly recommend using Dr. Maintenance for your appliance needs.
Ricardi did a great job working on our dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator. He showed up on time to our home in Baltimore, explained and fixed each issue, and was easy to work with. We will definitely use Doctor Maintenance in the future.
Tech was very knowledgeable and very professional. Parts came in quickly and my dishwasher repaired quickly.
Roel came to our home today after a stressful start with his vehicle and was able to remove our old dishwasher. Something another company said was not possible. This young man used his creativity and ingenuity to bypass a water valve that is impossible to turn off, he found a way to reach screws that fastened the dishwasher to the floor and was so careful with any water remaining in the dishwasher. This is a young man not afraid to work hard, do a job right (he was not going to let any of the problems get in the way of getting it installed) and be concerned for the customer's satisfaction. It was a pleasure to have him in our home and I wish him well...give him a raise!...I have to add that Miguel came to take the old dishwasher away and they worked together to make sure the dishwasher was an exact fit in the cabinets. Great teamwork!
Bryan fixed my dishwasher. He was great. I would a thousand percent hire him again.
Ricardi did a great job on the microwave and dishwasher.
Yoel was very helpful with fixing an intermittent dishwasher issue
Excellent job, They installed a new dishwasher with no issues.

Brian was extremely helpful, and professional he fixed my dryer issue in a quick timely fashion and explained in detailed what the issue was
I have been trying to get my dishwasher fixed by this company for 4 months. they have replaced the same part twice, neither of which solved the problem. I had to call and firmly ask for another appointment, every time their solutions didnβt work. A device technician was scheduled to come to my home yesterday, I saw him pull up to the house but he didnβt even knock or come in. this company has even me a a headache and is truly one of the most frustrating processes iβve ever been through. they were assigned by my warranty and i will be attempting to get another contactor.
We had appointment with Grabriel between 11 and 3pm, he finally arrives at 3:45pm. He was contracted by Midea to check out our dishwasher. After inspection he decided that the drain pump was defective, saying it several times in front of me and my partner, also saying it needs to be replaced or the dishwasher does. Then come find out that his report says it was improperly installed, even though he took it completely out and reinstalled it himself with the same E4 error message. We have received many different answers, one from the technician, one from Midea customer support, and one from Doctor maintenance support. It was installed correctly. This is just a copout so Midea can scam customers. Now we are stuck with a defective machine and no one will help us with an already damaged machine. Stay away from these guys and Midea.
Baltimore Dishwasher Repair,
Answered
How much does dishwasher repair cost in Baltimore?
Dishwasher repair in Baltimore starts at $100. That $100 is the diagnostic fee, and it covers the visit plus a full diagnosis from a skilled tech. On a quick fix, that's all you pay. If a part needs replacing, you get one flat, reasonable price to approve before any work, usually $225 total for a standard same-visit repair and almost always far less than buying a new dishwasher. Dishwasher repair costs stay predictable that way. Special-order parts get an exact quote from our office first. The full breakdown is on our appliance repair cost page.
My dishwasher is not draining. Can you fix it?
Yes, a dishwasher that won't drain is one of our most common calls across Baltimore. Standing water at the bottom is usually a clogged drain hose, a jammed drain pump, a stuck check valve, or a blocked filter. A factory-certified tech finds the real cause and you get a flat repair price to approve before any work begins.
Can a garbage disposal stop a dishwasher from draining?
Yes. When the dishwasher drain hose ties into the disposal, a jam or a clog in the disposal backs water straight up into the dishwasher tub. On a newly installed disposal the knockout plug is the usual culprit, because the hose cannot drain through a plug nobody removed. A dishwasher drain diagnosis includes the disposal connection, and we handle garbage disposal repair across Baltimore as well.
Why is my dishwasher not cleaning dishes properly?
A dishwasher stops cleaning properly when water flow drops off or a clog blocks it. The spray arms can be blocked, the wash pump can be worn, the soap dispenser can stick, or the filter can be packed with food and hard-water scale. We diagnose which one it is rather than guessing, so your dishes come out clean again.
Is it worth repairing my dishwasher or should I replace it?
Most of the time, repair is the smarter spend, especially when the dishwasher is under about eight years old and the fix runs less than half the price of a comparable new unit. A built-in or high-end model is almost always worth fixing. We give you an honest assessment so you can decide without pressure, and our repair-or-replace quiz walks you through it in about a minute.
How long do dishwashers usually last?
A standard dishwasher runs about 9 to 12 years, and a well-built or high-end model often longer. If yours is in that range and the repair is reasonable, fixing it usually beats replacing it. If it's much older and the wash pump or control board has failed, we'll tell you when replacement makes more sense.
What dishwasher brands do you repair?
Every major brand. A dishwasher has the same core parts no matter the manufacturer, so brand is rarely the obstacle. We're factory certified for LG and GE, so GE appliance repair is squarely in our wheelhouse, and our knowledgeable techs service everyday names like Whirlpool, Samsung, Maytag, KitchenAid, and Frigidaire alongside high-end brands like Bosch, Miele, and Thermador.
How long does a dishwasher repair take?
A standard dishwasher repair with the part on hand is finished the same visit. A clogged drain, a worn gasket, or a bad door latch is usually a straightforward job. If a special-order part is needed, our office sends a quote first and we schedule a return visit to finish the work.
How quickly can you get out for a dishwasher repair?
Usually the next available weekday, often within 48 hours. We run scheduled appointments Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, with windows that work around your day. A leaking dishwasher is a priority, so tell us when you book and we'll fit you in as soon as we can.
Do you warranty your dishwasher repairs?
Yes. Every repair carries a 60-day warranty on parts and labor. If the same problem comes back, we make it right. Our diagnostic guarantee is just as simple: if we find nothing wrong with your dishwasher, you get your $100 back.
Should I keep using a dishwasher that is leaking?
No. A leaking dishwasher can damage your flooring and cabinets fast, so stop the cycle, shut off the water supply under the sink if you can reach it, and call us. Most leaks trace to a worn door gasket, a loose hose, or a pump seal, all of which we repair. The sooner a tech looks at it, the less chance of water damage.
